EL-RUFAI IS NOW 'PREACHING HYGIENE TO NIGERIA AFTER LEAVING A HEAP OF GARBAGE IN KADUNA,' SAYS SHEHU SANI.

Sani has taken aim at the former governor, accusing him of being intolerant towards opposition during his tenure and attempting to rewrite his political narrative since leaving office.

Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker for Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has charged ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai with exercising tyranny while in power and now feigning a commitment to democracy. Although Sani did not directly name El-Rufai in his tweet on X on Thursday, SaharaReporters confirmed that he shared similar sentiments in a phone conversation with Punch Newspaper the previous day.

Sani criticized the former governor for his purported intolerance of dissent during his administration and alleged that he is now attempting to alter his political legacy post-tenure.

This criticism comes in light of El-Rufai’s recent remarks against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu's administration.

Sani further accused El-Rufai of leaving a legacy marked by debt and division in the state.

He stated, “While in power in Kaduna, he ruled with tyranny and inflicted harm; now, out of power, he hypocritically preaches democracy to a nation he contributed to damaging, plundering, and persecuting.

“He vilified the opposition while in power and now seeks their favor in his current state of isolation.

“He resembles a man scorned by a woman who then resorts to slandering her. Tinubu was his ally until he was ‘kicked out of the house,’ and now he portrays him as a villain.

“The government is led by individuals lacking education because they dismissed the expertise of competent professionals.

“If he rides in a Keke Napep, he’ll claim it’s a Lamborghini; if he’s ousted from a Lamborghini, he’ll call it a Keke Napep.

“A person with a blatant history of intolerance towards opposition and an extreme sensitivity to criticism lacks the moral authority to preach about good governance from a democratic platform.

“He left a mess in Kaduna and is now lecturing a country that hasn’t forgotten his past misdeeds about hygiene.

“The individual who plundered Kaduna State, burdened its citizens with debt, exploited religion to sow division, enriched himself and his associates with land, ignored court rulings, persecuted journalists, arrested critics on social media, and profited from banditry is now advising others on governance.

“If he had been welcomed into Tinubu’s administration, no critic, whether from the North or South, would have escaped his vindictiveness.

“He believed he would have a puppet governor in Kaduna State; now the situation is reversed, and he’s frustrated.

“He’s currently unemployed, often seeking invitations to northern public events to stir up sectional sentiments,” he added.
