SPEED DARLINGTON DECLARES, "DEPART IF YOU ARE TIRED OF SUPPORTING ME," AFTER SEVERING TIES WITH LAWYER

Singer Speed Darlington has directed those who are weary of supporting him to depart. This statement was made just hours after he parted ways with his lawyer, Stanley Alieke.

According to GREEN9JA365, Alieke recently announced on his Instagram story that his firm, Law Capitol, has severed ties with the controversial musician. This separation occurred a week after the singer was released from prolonged detention by the Nigerian police on allegations of cyberstalking his colleague, Burna Boy.

In a viral video shared on his Instagram page, Darlington addressed those advising him to abandon his dispute with Burna Boy, stating that if they are tired of supporting him, they should leave. He remarked:

"I am on my way to the studio to create more music. My life is my content. Let no one dictate what I should post. If you are tired of supporting me, you should depart and let my faith guide me.

"Support, support—how many of you actually spend money? I spend my own money, so please be quiet. Allow me to do as I wish and keep your advice to yourself. I have been through this before; the fear is not the same."

In a remark directed at Burna Boy, he captioned the video: "Always singing about police brutality in Nigeria, yet he proceeds to hire police to detain me longer. And this is all you can say? 'Leave him and move on.'"*

GREEN9JA365 recalls that the singer was arrested twice in October and November 2024 after mocking Burna Boy's relationship with American rapper Diddy. He attributed Burna Boy's Grammy award win in 2021 to this alleged association with Diddy.

In October 2024, Darlington released the diss track "Baby Oil," aimed at Burna Boy and Diddy, which gained popularity on Spotify Nigeria. Since his second release after spending two months in Kuje Prison, Darlington has subtly featured his "Baby Oil" track in all of his content.

Addressing his fans following his release from detention, Darlington stated that he "went to gather energy and launch back with a banger!"
